· Phil Davis Expected To Face Alexander Gustafsson At UFC 112
Fresh off his unanimous decision win over former WEC Champion Brian Stann at UFC 109, Phil Davis isn't taking a break; various reports indicate he will be back in action at UFC 112 on April 10. That date would put Davis in competition for the second time within a two month span, a pace rarely seen in the organization. UFC 112 will be the UFC's first trip to the Middle East as it takes place in Abu Dhabi, The United Arab Emirates.
Davis (5-0) is undefeated since he turned professional in October 2008, earning two knockout/TKO victories in addition to one submission and two decision wins. He won a national wrestling championship in 2008 while attending Penn State and studies under veteran trainer Lloyd Irvin. Davis is a blue belt in the discipline of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
His opponent, Alexander Gustaffson (9-0) is also undefeated in his mixed martial arts career. He has picked up seven of his nine career wins by knockout/TKO. He made his UFC debut at UFC 105 in November by defeating Jared Hamman by TKO in less than one minute.
