· UFC 110: Round-By-Round & Post Fight Coverage

  As with past UFC events, MMA Spot will be bringing our readers round by round coverage and post-fight press conferences for tonight's pay- per-view broadcast of "UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez". The event will be taking place from the Acer Arena in Sydney, and features a heavyweight bout between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez. Also on the card, popular middleweights Wanderlei Silva and Michael Bisping will face off. Catch all the live blow-by-blow action as we bring you live coverage of the main broadcast card round by round.

The prelims are over and the main card is coming up. If the Main Event card is anything like the fights earlier this evening, we will be in for a treat.

 

* Because the UFC will occassionally broadcast undercard bouts during the pay-per-view, the prelims will not be updated until the event has completed.


James Te Huna vs. Igor Pokrajac  (Unaired Prelim)

Official Decision -  James Te Huna wins by TKO (punches) at 3:26 of Round 3


Goran Reljic vs. C.B. Dollaway  (Unaired Prelim)

Official Decision -   C.B. Dollaway wins by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)


Chris Lytle vs. Brian Foster  (Unaired Prelim)

Round 1 - Lytle's first strike is a big one, just missing. Foster returns with a big takedown. Foster attempts a spinning heel kick and partially connects. Lytle working looping punches to the head and body. He lands a sharp hook to Foster. Foster goes for a takedown, but Lytle rolls to a kneebar. Foster taps quickly and is in obvious pain as he lay on the mat. Chris Lytle wins by submission.

Official Decision - Chris Lytle wins by submission (kneebar) at 1:41 of Round 1


Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Sosznski  (Unaired Prelim)

Round 1 - Sosznski darts out with a flurry. Bonnar may have poked him in the eye. Sosznski lands a big punch wobbling Bonnar. Bonnar regains himself and pushes Sosznski into the fence.  Bonnar has cut opened up. Sosznski attacks at odd angles, Bonnar can't find him on the counters. Sosznski lands several flush punches as Bonnar retreats. Bonnar catches a leg and gets a takedown from it. Sosznski back up, but gets dumped again. Bonnar in side control, but Sosznski gets back up. Sosznski hurting Bonnar with nearly every strike as the round nears the end. Bonnar answers with a few punches. Bonnar lands a big right with 12 to go. The round ends. Sosznski takes it 10-9.

Round 2 - Bonnar looking more accurate to open the round. Sosznski planting his feet when he strikes. the two trade for a moment against the fense, both landing good shots. Bonnar clinches, and Sosznski answers once space is made. Both men exchange takedwon attempts, neither successful. Bonnar lands several elbows from the clinch. Sosznski lands a right-left combo. Trading one punch at a time, both are landing. Bonnar presses Sosznski into the cage working inside knees. Sosznski switches position and presses Bonner. Sosznski lands a big left n the break. Both men landing well in the round. As the round closes both men attempt front kicks, Sosznski getting dropped. Sosznski takes the round again 10-9.

Round 3 - Sosznski lands a big left on Bannar, busting him wide open. Bonnar presses Sosznski into the cage, and is gushing blood everywhere. The referee stops the bout to take a look at the cut. The replay shows a head butt that opened the cut. The fight is stopped as the doctor calls the fight. Bonnar is going to need several stitches to close this cut.

Official Decision -Krzysztof Sosznski wins by TKO (doctor stoppage due to cut) at 1:04 of Round 3


Anthony Perosh vs. Mirko Filipovic

Round 1 - Perosh spends the round trying repeatedly trying for the takedown but Mirko is having none of it, stuffing all of them and rocking Perosh multiple times.

Round 2 - More of the same with Perosh looking for the takedown and Mirko landing plenty of shots. Crocop ends up on top in one of the scambles and lands an elbow splitting Perosh's forehead wide open. The doctors allow him to continue but then stop it after the round has ended.

Official Decision - Mirko Filipovic wins by TKO (Doctor Stoppage) at the end of Round 2

 

Keith Jardine vs. Ryan Bader

Round 1 - Both guys striking with Bader landing first in the exchanges. Bader gets the takedown, working some ground and pound, ref stands them up with about 30 seconds left, round ends with both guys looking for a striking opening.

Round 2 - Round starts with Jardine landing leg kicks and Bader responding by attempting a takedown and pushing Jardine into the fence. Same thing repeated a second time, followed by striking with Jardine getting the best. Bader gets a takedown at the end but they are back up at the buzzer.

Round 3 - Round starts same as the end of Round 2 with Jardine stopping the takedown attempts and landing the better strikes. Bader lands a right that rocked Jardine and followed it with a left hook that knocked out Jardine.

Official Decision - Ryan Bader wins by KO Round 3

 

Joe Stevenson vs. George Sotiropoulos

Round 1 - Sotiropoulos quickly take sthe center of the cage. Good head movement by Sotiropoulos. He reaches for a single-leg, but can't finish the takedown. Eventually he gets the trip on Stevenson. Sotiropoulos gets to half guard. Sotiropoulos working hard to free his other leg. Stevenson is working hard to control Sotiropoulos' posture. Stevenson holding tight and tries to roll under the legs of Sotiropoulos. Sotiropoulos gets to a standing base, eats an upkick, but he turns the position into side control, and then to mount. Sotiropoulos up high, gets shaken as Stevenson rolls, but keeps back position. Sotiropoulos goes for a kimura, switches it to an armbar and takes full mount as the round ends. At least 10-9 for Sotiropoulos.

Round 2 - Stevenson comes out aggressive to start round 2. Stevenson lands a right, but Sotiropoulos' answer breifly takes away Stevenson's legs. Sotiropoulos has found a home for the jab and the counter right. Sotiropoulos still working good head movement to avoid being hit. Stevenson gets a takedown, and has Sotiropoulos pressed into the cage. Sotiropoulos using an omoplata position to reposition and sweeps. Stevenson grabs a single and switches back to top position. Sotiropoulos grabs an arm works for an armbar submission, but Stevenson defends and moves into Sotiropoulos' guard. Stevenson rolls for an ankle lock, but can't keep it. Sotiropoulos closes the round with Stevenson trapped in an anaconda choke. Stevenson takes a razor-thin round 10-9.

Round 3 - Sotiropoulos lands a combo to open the round, and another left hook. Stevenson is getting beat to the punch when he strikes. Sotiropoulos catches a kick, and gets a takedown. Back to the feet quickly, but they tie up against the fence. Sotiropoulos gets a trip, but Stevenson stands right back up. Sotiropoulos lands a flush right and Stevenson goes flat-footed. Stevenson attempts a takedown, good sprawl by Sotiropoulos. Stevenson gets a takedown and is quickly into half guard. Sotiropoulos gets back to full guard and creates space with an up kick. Stevenson gets another takedown as he quickens the pace. Sotiropoulos clinches and Stevenson cannot do anything withthe position. Close round, likely to go to Stevenson 10-9. The judges are going to have a tough time scoring this bout.

Official Decision - George Sotiropoulos wins a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

 

Michael Bisping vs. Wanderlei Silva

Round 1 - Bisping throws a jab and several kicks. Silva gets taken down, and gets right back up. Bisping lands a knee on exit. Silva looking for an opening. Bisping moving well, in & out, side to side. Bisping gets another takedwon and lands a few strikes as Silva gets back to his feet. Silva lands a body shot, Bisping answers. Silva lands a couple high leg kicks and a quick combo. Bisping answers with a big right, backing Silva up. Silva stuffs a few takedown attempts and lands a few hard shots as the round closes. Bisping taking the round 10-9.

Round 2 - Silva witha wide base works a few kicks to open the round. Silva catces a leg and kicks the other leg out, dropping Bisping. Silva from the guard looking to pound away. Bisping tries for an armbar, but Silva avoids easily.  Back to their feet the two exchange kicks. Bisping's hands look noticably slower midway through the round. Bisping gets a quick takedown and is in side control, but Silva scrambles to the feet quickly. Bisping paws with the jab as Silva stalks. Under a minute and Silva lands several inside kicks. Bisping gets another takedown as the round nears the end. Silva has a tight guilotine, but can't finish it before the bell. Close, but Silva should have edged that round 10-9.

Round 3 - Silva works the legs again to open the third round. Silva lands a good straight right. Bisping landing a few hooks. Silva takes a low blow and time is called. The fight continues. The two trade body kicks and the distance between the two is minimal. Both men throwing punches with ill intent halfway through this final round. Bisping just misses getting tagged with a right. Silva stuffs another takedown, and gets poked in the eye. The fight is stopped again. Silva says he's fine. Silva now attacking, backing Bisping up. Silva grabs the kick again and sweeps the leg. Bisping right back up. Thirty seconds and Bisping lands. Silva catches Bisping near the bell and drops Bisping. Silva pouncing, and the round ends as the referee was about to stop the action. Silva wins the round 10-9.

Official Decision - Wanderlei Silva wins by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)


Main Event:  Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez

Round 1 - Velasquez opens up with some kicks. Nogueira counters with a left. Velasquez lands a combonation but doesn't hurt Nogueira. Velasquez changing levels with his kicks. Nogueira lands several punches, answering a flurry by Velasquez. Velasquez rocks Nogueira with a left, dropping him. Then pounces with 4 or 5 unanswered shots. Velasquez wins by knockout.

Official Decision - Cain Velasquez wins by knockout at 2:20 of Round 1
