UFC newcomer and undefeated fighter Daniel Roberts will be stepping in for Anthony "Rumble" Johnson against John "Doomsday" Howard at "UFC LIVE: Vera vs. Jones." While Johnson was originally scheduled to face Howard on the main card of the event, a knee injury has forced the fighter to withdraw. The event will take place on Sunday, March 21, at 9 p.m. ET from the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado and will be broadcast on the Versus network.

Roberts (9-0) is taking the fight on only a month's notice, however the fighter quickly jumped at the opportunity to make his UFC debut. With seven of his victories coming by way of submission and only two fights going the distance, the Oklahoma-based 29-year-old boasts an impressive resume and hopes to continue his streak in the world's premiere mixed martial arts organization.

Howard (13-4) has been fighting for the UFC since January 2009 and has not lost a fight under the organization's banner. Following his knockout of veteran fighter Dennis Hallman at "The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale," Howard has proven himself to be a tough competitor. While a win over the high-profile Johnson would have catapulted Howard to the top of the 170 pound division, defeating Roberts would be Howard's fourth win in the UFC and seventh consecutive win overall.
