· More Bouts Added To March 7 Sengoku 12 Event

Yesterday officials for World Victory Road announced several additions for their "Sengoku Raiden Championship 12" event. Among the announced additions were former UFC and Pride star Akihiro Gono taking on Diego Gonzalez, as well as Henry “Sentoryu” Miller against Yoshihiro Nakao. The event will take place March 7 at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan, and airs on HDNet in North America.

Already announced for the event is a Sengoku middleweight title contest between Jorge Santiago and Mamed Khalidov. Also previously reported, Shigeki Osawa will face Kang Kyung Ho along with Yuji Hoshino and Maxi Blanco against yet to be named opponents.

Gono (31-15-7), who holds wins over Ivan Salaverry, Hector Lombard, and Gegard Mousasi, has won two straight bouts, including a spectacular armbar submission over Hayato Sakurai at "K-1 Dynamite!! 2009." His opponent, Diego Gonzalez (13-3) will be making his Sengoku debut. The M-1 Challenge veteran has won eight straight coming in to this matchup, with his last loss coming at the hands of UFC title hopeful Dan Hardy.

At 8-2, former Pride fighter Yoshihiro Nakao will be looking to continue his winning ways following a decision victory over Mu Bae Choi at Sengoku’s "Ninth Battle." He will be facing former Sumo wrestler Henry “Sentoryu” Miller. Miller (6-9) was last seen knocking out Min Soo Kim at "The Khan 2," this past November.

Lightweights Leo Santos (6-3) and Kiuma Kunioku (34-22-9) round out the latest announced additions to the event. Santos, a submission specialist, will be coming back from a recent split decision loss at Sengoku 8. Until the loss he had won five straight after beginning his MMA career just 1-2. The Pancrase veteran Kunioku brings his sixty-plus fight experience back into the ring after taking over a year off. He is unbeaten in his last five bouts.
