With one month of mixed martial arts competition in the books for 2010 it is time to decide where the top fighters rank in their respective divisions. This month we will look at the lighter weight classes, bantamweight, featherweight, and lightweight. As with every month, we have also updated our top pound-for-pound rankings.

The lighter weight classes are known for their explosive, fast paced fights and are becoming a favorite to a growing number of mixed martial arts fans. The divisions are home to some of the most popular fighters in the world, such as: B.J. Penn, Urijah Faber, Jose Aldo, and Shinya Aoki. It was not easy, but the staff sat down to debate just where the best in each division rank among the others in their divisions.

The pound-for-pound rankings are always a difficult topic to discuss. Outside of the top four, it is increasingly difficult to accurately judge how Fighter A's skill set matches up in comparison to Fighters B, C, and D's, regardless of weight. We have put together a list that is sure to entice some great converstaions. Enjoy the rankings!
