“WEC 50: Cruz vs. Benavidez II” Preview

World Extreme Cagefighting returns to Versus for the first time in nearly two months, and yet another solid offering is in the cards for viewers. Shonie Carter vs. Torrance Taylor Finalizes Bellator 25

Bellator today announced the completion of the Local Feature Fights for Bellator 25 when the promotion returns to the historic Chicago Theatre. Joining an exciting welterweight fight between the colorful, seasoned Chi-town veteran Shonie Carter and battle-tested Torrance Taylor slated as the local main event, the promotion today confirmed four additional talent-rich fights for the Fox Sports Net event.

“UFC 121: Lesnar vs. Velasquez” Official For Oct. 23 In Anaheim

The baddest man on the planet, UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, is back in the main event for UFC 121, and unbeaten Cain Velasquez is looking to take his belt and become the first man to knock him out. Lesnar proved he had beaten the severe illness that kept him sidelined for a year by withstanding the onslaught by Shane Carwin at UFC 116 and defending his heavyweight title with a slick submission in the second round. His opponent at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on Oct. 23, 2010, Cain Velasquez, has already made short work out of the heavyweight division and he promises to make the most of his first shot at the title.

“War On The Mainland” Results

Powerhouse World Promotions held its inaugural mixed martial arts event, "War on the Mainland," over the weekend and drew big names in and out of the ring. With Bas Rutten as commentator and Jimmy Lennon Jr. as the ring announcer, there was no surprise that this night was one that was worthy of pay-per-view status. The card had nine bouts and was headlined by a heavyweight title match pitting Tim Sylvia aagainst Paul Buentello.

Paul Daley Gets 30 Day Suspension, Faces Jorge Masvidal September 11

DaleyFormer UFC and EliteXC fighter Paul "Semtex" Daley reportedly has an opponent for his September 11 debut for the Shark Fights organization. Despite just receiving a 30-day suspension from the Quebec Athletic Commission for punching Josh Koscheck following the final bell of their UFC 113 bout in May, the suspension will be served before the September bout; Jorge Masvidal is rumored to be his opponent. Shark Fights 13 will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Keith Jardine and Trevor Prangley and will take place in Amarillo, Texas.

“War On The Mainland” Press Conference Round Up

Powerhouse World Promotions' "War on the Mainland" will take place at the Bren Event’s Center in Irvine on Aug. 14. Paul “The Headhunter” Buentello, a former UFC and Strikeforce title contender, will be fighting against former two-time UFC heavyweight champion, Tim Sylvia in the main event. On August 12, a press conference was held at the Atrium Hotel near where the event will take place on Saturday night.

Bellator 24 Concludes With An Exciting Night Of Knockouts And Submissions

Bellator Fighting Championships kicked off its highly anticipated third season tonight in front of a boisterous crowd at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Once again fans were treated to a full card of electrifying fights that included shocking finishes in nearly every fight. In the night’s main event Bellator Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard took on former NFL player Whisper Goodman in a non- title "Super Fight."

Bellator 24 Live Play-By-Play

MMA Spot is Live at the at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for Bellator 24. The event kicks off season three of Bellator's tournament style formats. The card is headlined by returning Bellator Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard, who will be facing ex-NFL star Herbert "Whisper" Goodman in a non-title bout. The event also kicks-off Bellator's women's 115 pound tournament, including Japanese sensation Megumi Fujii as she takes on hot up-and-coming prospect Carla Esperanza. Bellator Signs Russian Heavyweight Alexey Oleinik

Bellator officially announced today that Russian heavyweight Alexey Oleinik is the latest and final addition to the Bellator season three heavyweight tournament. The Judo black belt is not only one of the most respected fighters in Russia, but also one of the most dangerous heavyweight submission specialists in the sport. Oleinik brings a phenomenal 27-5-1 record to the tournament with 23 of those 27 victories coming via submission.

Shine Fights Returns With Grand Prix Format On Sept. 10

Shine Fights Promotions' highly anti- cipated return to the MMA ring will take place on September 10 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., announced today by Shine Fights COO Jason Chambers.  The grand prix format—an eight-man, single-elimination tournament taking place in one night—will be the first such event held in the United States in more than 15 years.  The bout will be broadcast live on pay-per-view by MultiVision Media, Inc., beginning at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST.

Bellator 24 Weigh-in Results

Bellator Fighting Championships held weigh-ins for their upcoming third season debut, Bellator 24, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino today. The card is headlined by returning Bellator Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard (25-2-1), who will be facing ex-NFL star Herbert "Whisper" Goodman (16-8-1) in a non-title bout. Lombard was last seen in a six-second destruction over UFC veteran Jay Silva this past May at Bellator 18.
